Indonesia failed to add a title from the men’s singles in the French Open 2019. This is after Jonatan Christie was defeated by Chen Long in the final match.
In the match held at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin on Sunday (10/27/2019), Jonatan had to give up the title after being defeated by Chen Long through two straight games, 19-21 and 12-21 within 51 minutes.
In the first game, Jonatan and Chen Long had a tight duel from the start. Chen Long is 11-9 in the first game interval before Jonatan is over with a 15-12 advantage.
But, Jonatan lost control and Chen Long was able to equalize the score 15-15 then 17-17. Chen Long got wind to leave Jonatan at 17-19.
Jonatan did not give up to catch up 19-20 before Chen Long won 21-19.
Entered in the second game, Jonatan was left behind before he succeeded in forcing the score 9-9. Chen Long is 11-9 in the first game interval and can be compared to Jonatan 11-11.
After that, Jonatan’s points were stuck at 11 and Chen Long was able to leave until finally winning with 21-12. Jonatan also failed to get the first win over Chen Long.
Of the seven previous duels, Jonatan always lost and failed, following the success of Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti, who previously won the world number one pair by Zheng Si Wei / Huang Ya Qiong.
One degree can be obtained if IndonesiaKevin Sanjaya / Marcus Fernaldi Gideon defeated Indian representative Satwiksairaj Rankireddy / Chirag Shetty.
