If anyone thinks David de Gea will not be replaced by his position as Manchester United’s main goalkeeper, it looks like he has to think twice. De Gea may soon end his devotion with the Red Devils after the Spanish keeper was reluctant to sign a contract extension.

Former United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, who is now the CEO of Ajax Amsterdam, said for the time being de Gea’s position could be irreplaceable. But with his reluctance to extend the contract as an indication that de Gea wants to find new challenges at other clubs. Juventus is said to be the next port for the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper.
“Other goalkeepers can also fill in the blanks. There are a number of Premier League goalkeepers who play at clubs who can also fill these gaps. I was 34 years old when heading to United. So there are many opportunities there,” van der Sar said. / 9/2019).
“The decision must come at a certain point. It takes a long time now, so it’s a matter of ‘yes’ or ‘no’ but I’m not United’s director.”

While commenting on de Gea’s decline in recent appearances, van der Sar said this was common. Every player experiences hard times. “That has happened to me, to Ryan Giggs too, to everyone. But he will be fine. He is a great goalkeeper,” he concluded.
