Juventus defender Daniele Rugani revealed his condition after being discovered contracting the coronavirus. The 25-year-old player said his condition was fine and there was nothing to worry about covid-19 he suffered.
Rugani revealed his health news through his verified Twitter account (@DanieleRugani) in Italian. ‘You have read the news and that is why I want to convince everyone who is worried about me, I am fine,’ Rugani wrote.
‘I invite everyone to respect the decision because this virus doesn’t make a difference! Let’s do it for ourselves, for the people we love, and for the people around us to thank you.’
Juventus confirmed Rugani was positive for covid-19 in a statement released on Wednesday (11/3/2020) evening local time. Rugani has been diagnosed with coronavirus, although he currently has no symptoms.
Rugani was tested positive for the virus six days before Juventus was scheduled to meet Olympique Lyon in the second leg of the last 16 of the Champions League 2019/2020. ‘Daniele Rugani has been tested, tested positive for the virus (Covid-19) and currently has no symptoms,’ the Juventus statement said.

The World Health Organization (WHO) calls the coronavirus outbreak as a global pandemic. Italy has responded strongly to the spread of this outbreak, by closing the country by the government and suspending all domestic sports events until April 3.
According to WHO, Italy has more than 12,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and has resulted in more than 800 deaths.
