Last week Israel Adesanya made it clear that he wanted to defend his belt against Yoel Romero, after knowing that Paulo Costa would not be available to fight until April. So far came statements from both Romero and Adesanya, but the most important was missing: Dana White In a recent interview, the UFC president said that even though for many Yoel Romero sounds like the most logical opponent for Adesanya, he has to first win again on his return before talking about any option for the belt.
“Both want to fight. First, we will talk about Romero returning with a fight soon and the winner of that will face Israel Adesanya”

Besides, White referred to the clear date on the return of Paulo Costa, since he knows he will be out for 8 months, while the Brazilian says he will be ready for April.
“Paulo Costa broke the bicep, so it must be operated. He says he will be back sooner than expected. That’s not what the doctor is telling me, so it’s not true.”
