Conor McGregor poses “Champ ’22” vibe for lightweight and featherweight division

Poirier v McGregor ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - JANUARY 23: Conor McGregor of Ireland prepares to fight Dustin Poirier in a lightweight fight

Two-time UFC champion Conor McGregor is aiming to achieve a two-division title once again. Apparently, he is few more fights away from the title shot as the bout against Dustin Poirier is going to book for the UFC 264 in July.

The Notorious has been waiting for the trilogy for the last couple of months after he lost to Poirier at UFC 257. Although the deal is not signed yet, the bout could be finalized this week.

If McGregor can win the trilogy, he will get a chance to fight the lightweight shot in the following bout against the current title contender Michael Chandler. “If I put my money on it, I think it is going to be Conor,” Chandler said in an interview. But Chandler will have to win the title first against Charles Oliveira at UFC 262.

If it is not Chandler, then the Irishman may fight Charles Oliveira. Speculation suggests that, whoever wins the UFC lightweight title at UFC 262, the winner will defend his title against Conor McGregor.

The 32-year-old won the featherweight title once in 2015, and he is aiming for that again. In his recent Instagram post-McGregor indicated that and wrote“Champ Champ 22.” Writing champ two times means he aims to win UFC lightweight and featherweight by 2022.

Where is Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier fight?

The trilogy between McGregor and Poirier is almost confirmed for the UFC 264 on July 10. However, it is not finalized yet, though it is expected to be open to the fans.

So, UFC might offer the fans to suggest a venue, the source says. However, UFC President Dana White did not confirm anything about taking opinions from fans. ESPN reported that White is planning T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for the UFC 264.

The third showdown between McGregor and The Diamond is expected to be one of UFC history’s most lucrative bouts. And because of that, Dana White seems taking time to announce the venue and date. The fight will be available on PPV too.
