The American professional mixed martial artist has stated his desire to face Jose Aldo.

‘No Love’ was to move down in weight to battle Deiveson Figueiredo for the Flyweight Championship in November. Moreover, he met with a bicep injury and contracted COVID-19, which delayed his return. Conversely, Aldo breaks a three-fight losing streak with an impressive win against Marlon Vera.
Cody Garbrandt on Tuesday updated a post on his Twitter handle, a screenshot of a poll. The poll was to know if fans want to watch the fight between Jose Aldo and Cody Garbrandt.
Cody Garbrandt’s focus
While it is visible that Garbrandt’s focus is on battling Aldo right now, yet, a recent interview highlighted that he foresees a potential trilogy fight against rival TJ Dillashaw.
“We doing this @josealdojunior,” Garbrandt wrote. “@danawhite We both say send the contracts”.- Cody Garbrandt.
“I feel like T.J. caught me at a time where mentally I was not in the best state of mind to go in there and be a champion and that’s why it was taken from me,”. “He capitalized and I look back on it. I kept going back to those fights, and it’s a little bit of insanity. You have to be insane to repeat the same thing expecting a different outcome and that’s what I was doing… Looking back, hindsight is 2020 always in a fight, but I’m thankful for that. I feel like if I would have went off and defended the title, I probably wouldn’t have been as hungry and motivated as I am today and that’s going to help me out for the next five years of my career or however long I’m going to fight for. -Cody Garbrandt.
The native American met TJ at UFC 217, where he lost in the second round by TKO. Further, the fighters faced each other again at the Main Event of UFC 227, Dillashaw defeated Garbrandt in the first round by TKO.
In an interview, Cody showed an optimistic behavior that he feels much more motivated and hungry, which will certainly help him with his future. Furthermore, the fighter feels more excited and mentally prepared. The 29-year-old fighter also mentions fighting Dillashaw will be a big fight for him to make a comeback in the future.
