Canelo Alvarez Fully Focused to Achieve the Fame of “Best Fighter in The World”

Canelo vs Yildirim

The countdown for the super-middleweight fight between Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders has begun. It’s likely that Canelo will have an overwhelming victory given his recent form.

With the fight taking place in Arlington, Texas, Saul Canelo Alvarez says he will relish the opportunity to fight in England in the near future. The winner will most certainly try to book a fight with IBF champion Caleb Plant to secure undisputed glory at super middleweight.

The Mexican talked about how he still has plenty left to achieve. He said, “To win all these titles at 168 pounds, no Mexican has ever done it. I love boxing and love what I do. I always set short-term goals in my mind and for now, I am fully focused on this one.”

A four-division world champion, Canelo Alvarez is regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighter in boxing.

Alvarez knows he’s in for a tough fight against. He said, “I do expect this to be a very competitive fight. I think he is a little bit more complicated as a fighter. It’s going to be a tough one in the first rounds.”

When asked about whether he thinks Billy will try to get under his skin. Alvarez said, “He might try to do that but he won’t achieve that.” The unbeaten record of Billy, combined with his technical style, means Alvarez will likely need to be patient.

Saunders, when he is at his best is a lethal counter-punching southpaw. He is exactly the type of opponent Alvarez has suffered the most against. Will Canelo inch one step closer to achieving boxing history at 168 pounds?
