Fury is rated to surpass Wilder in several rounds from their first 12 rounds of battle. However, Wilder knocked Fury down twice (knockdown), including one in the 12th round, and the judge gave a draw in the fight. Several boxing lovers two considered the outcome of the fight was controversial.
‘I am glad the rematch has finally taken place,’ Wilder said in a statement. ‘I have proved myself the first time and I am ready to do it again.’
‘That (the first meeting) was a very controversial battle. I promise my fans that there will be no controversy with this one. I will finish it.’
‘I will give them what they want; KO! And my KO is amazing. I proved myself first and I’m ready to do it again.’
Wilder last fought in Las Vegas on November 23 and defeated Luis Ortiz with a knockout in the seventh round, while Fury’s final fight against Otto Wallin at T-Mobile Arena, Paradise, Nevada, September 14, scored an absolute decision victory.
Wilder last fought in Las Vegas in November and defeated Luis Ortiz, while Fury last fought in September, scoring an absolute victory over Otto Wallin.
Wilder must make some serious adjustments if he wants to overcome Fury. Because, Fury will be more motivated to win and have weapons to defeat Wilder, at least for unanimous victory.
Wilder struggled against Luis ‘King Kong’ Ortiz (31-2, 26 KO) on November 23, and looked weak. Wilder cannot come up with the same game plan against Fury and only relies on one hit.
