Boxing: Nigel Benn finally returned to fight at the age of 55

Former WBO Middle-Class World Champion and WBC Super Middle Class, Nigel Benn, finally returned to fight at the age of 55. Benn will fight for the first time after 23 years of retirement.

In his comeback, Benn faced Sakio Bika, who is also a former world champion, on November 23 in Birmingham, England.

The Dark Destroyer, who played the iconic duel against Chris Eubank Sr., retired in 1996, returned to the ring after three successive defeats 23 years ago.

“I know how fit my body is, and how I feel. It has nothing to do with my age,” Nigel Benn told Sky Sports.

“I’m not a ‘Dark Destroyer’ anymore. This is Nigel ‘Benjamin Button’ Benn. Forget about age. It’s not a matter of age,” he continued.

His son, Conor Benn, appeared in his place and set an unbeaten record in 15 battles. Conor will fight again on October 26 in the addition of Josh Taylor vs. Regis Prograis and Derek Chisora vs Joseph Parker.
