Watch: Daniel Cormier’s Live Reaction on Jake Paul Knocking Out Ben Askren in First Round

Jake Paul is yet to fight any professional boxing event, but he now owns the record to knock out a professional MMA fighter in his brief boxing career. Following this, Ben Askren’s friend Daniel Cormier is upset about Funky’s knockout loss to Jake Paul.

Daniel Cormier has been rooting for Ben since the announcement of the bout. “I just saw Jake Paul’s reaction to @Benaskren palming his face, and I am now convinced that Ben wins. He looked like he wanted to throw a punch and then settled on slapping his ass? Ben smashes this dude. I’m in,” Cormier had predicted Askren’s win since that press conference.

Now that the Funky could not even complete the first round, Cormier expressed his distress over Twitter. “Man look at this sh*t. O My God! O My God,” DC said.

While Askren was down, the referee did not beat the count. He deemed Askren unable to continue and stopped the fight at the 1:59 mark of round 1. Later Askren protested the stoppage, but the referee paid little heed to that and told Askren to walk forward.

The former MMA champ moved sideways and walked toward the backstage, smiling after the brief fight. Although Ben lost the bout, he got $500,000 in disclosed pay for the bout. Considering that the expectations of the fans, the result-the fight lasted for not over two minutes.

Critics have often deemed Paul as frivolous arrogant and impulsive. Even Ben too had quoted him as a child. After his knockout, rest assured Paul is just not about arrogance. He is on an undefeated streak and would like to continue that. Yet, to be praiseworthy, the time is yet to come.
