Teofimo Lopez Yells at Fans Defending His Boxing Regime: “Y’all don’t even know what an Underdog is”

The Boxing world considers Teofimo Lopez as the lifelong underdog, as he has the tendency to pick bouts against the lower ranked boxers to remain undefeated.

Lopez is currently the undisputed lightweight world champion and has unified the IBF title since 2019. The American boxer will fight George Kambosos Jr. to defend his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, The Ring, and WBC (Franchise) Titles. However, Lopez was supposed to fight Devin Haney, but Lopez picked Henry.

Nevertheless, the fans were disappointed and called him an underdog as Lopez chose George instead of Henry. He took to Twitter to reply back to the critics and fans. He wrote, “Y’all don’t even know what an Underdog is! Not even close.”

On the other hand, Kambosos will enter the bout with a 19-0 record while holding the IBF Pan Pacific lightweight title since 2017. Considering the career facts of both fighters, Kambosos is the underdog here as Teofimo Lopez is a higher-ranked fighter. But the Australian boxer will surely look to establish his legacy as one of the greats in Australian boxing.

Nevertheless, Lopez defended himself about choosing George instead of other top-ranked fighters. “I’ve been in the big leagues. I’ve been in with guys who have the experience,” he defended. But Lopez also promised that he will choose the upper-ranked fighter next time. “I gotta move him to the side and move to the guys everyone wants to see me fight next,” he continued.

Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos’s bout will take place on June 5 at the Triller Fight Club pay-per-view. However, the Triller Fight Club will announce the location later, but Miami has been the front-runner.
