“Fight someone for real”: Conor McGregor Crushes Floyd Mayweather’s Legacy For Taking Logan Paul Fight

Conor McGregor is working on the Dustin Poirier trilogy

Conor McGregor had some harsh words for Floyd Mayweather Jr, following his press conference. Incidentally, Mayweather got into a physical altercation with Jake Paul at the presser.

Jake snatched a hat off the head of the 44-year-old boxing legend, which then led to an absolute bedlam backstage. Shortly after, security guards were on the scene with media swarming to get photos and videos of the incident.

Subsequently, McGregor took to Instagram, slamming Mayweather for the exhibition bout against Logan Paul. “Fight someone for real, on your record, or f*ck off mate”. Clearly, Conor is not happy with Floyd’s attempt at an easy cash grab.

“Pro to pro it’s embarrassing. He will not scratch $10 [million] for this fight and he knows it. It was canceled once already. The world is watching this on Twitter. He’d fight a half-decent pro and command $20 [million] upwards, yet it’s this sh*t. Whatever way you spin this, it’s sad. Fight someone for real, on your record, or f*ck off mate. Slap head!” adds McGregor.

Floyd Mayweather is retired from active boxing after moving to 50-0 with his 10th round TKO against McGregor back in 2017. Since then, he’s only been seen at exhibition bouts with the likes of Tenshin Nasukawa in Japan and now with the Logan Paul in June.

Evidently, McGregor doesn’t see anything respectworthy in fighting social influencers. As such, it is probably why he prefers to ‘air’ out the multiple call-outs from Jake Paul over the past year.

What Is Conor McGregor Planning Next?

Currently, Conor McGregor is preparing for his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier on July 10 at UFC 264. After beating Poirier at UFC 178, ‘The Notorious’ succumbed to a KO/TKO loss in the UFC 257 rematch. As a result, Conor will be keen not to lose, as it would tarnish his legacy as one of the UFC’s greatest.

Following that, McGregor has teased a potential return to the sport of boxing in the future including a possible fight against Manny Pacquiao. His last boxing fight with Floyd Mayweather in 2017 drew 4.3 million PPV buys in North America.
