‘Conor is a significantly better Boxer than myself and Jake Paul’ Ben Askren opens up about fighting Conor McGregor

Ben Askren is all set to fight Jake Paul. Ahead of that, Ben shared his thoughts on Jake and what he expects from the fight.

Ben took to the stage for the Final Press Conference of the fight. During the conference, he spoke about a variety of topics including Conor McGregor and his boxing capabilities.

Ben spoke about if he’d be open to boxing Conor McGregor. Swiftly, The 36-year-old admits Conor is a much better boxer than him and Jake. Naturally, Ben feels it would make more sense for him to take on Conor in the Octagon.

However, Ben reiterates he has retired from MMA. ‘Funky’ decided to call time on his MMA career after revealing that he was experiencing complications with his hip. Ben had a record of 16 wins, 2 losses prior to his retirement.

Talks about Conor McGregor began after Ben suggested he would only fight for ‘Conor level paycheck’. He said, “If someone cuts me a Conor McGregor type cheque, I would consider doing it again.”

‘The Notorious’ certainly has defined his type of cheques. His boxing fight with Floyd Mayweather drew 4.3 million PPV buys in North America. To add to that, he has headlined five out of the six highest-selling PPV events in UFC history.

What’s Next for Ben Askren?

Ben Askren has already clarified his plans after his fight with Jake Paul. Surprisingly, Ben reveals he does not wish to do fights of such kind again. He is more than happy with doing podcasts and looking after his wrestling academies.

Regarding the fight with Jake, he has said, “I got an interesting opportunity and I’m going to take advantage of it.” He is making it very clear that he will only fight for a big cheque or an interesting opportunity.

Needless to say, Ben will be seeking to beat Jake Paul. That said, the retired fighter is excited at the prospect of punching Jake Paul and ending his hype when the two fights at Triller Fight Club Main Event on Saturday.
