Billy Joe Saunders is A “Live Dog” against Canelo Alvarez 45% Power Punches, Claims Chris Algieri

Billy Joe Saunders is ready to face Canelo Alvarez in Saturday’s super-middleweight unification bout at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Chris Algieri in a recent interview with Fighthype shared his thoughts on whether Billy has a chance against Canelo.

He said, “Oh, he’s got a chance; he’s a live dog. I don’t predict it. I think we’re seeing the best of Canelo now in his prime, but Billy Joe on paper has everything to upset the applecart. But when you look at it closer with the way they match up.”

“I’m going to go with Canelo. Billy Joe is a hard guy to look good against in general, let alone win. I read info that he lands 45% of his power punches.”

“That’s an average, and that’s wide. I always said if you land 50% of your power punches, the fight is going to get stopped. If he’s landing 45 percent per fight, that’s super impressive.”

Canelo Alvarez was furious with the way WBO super middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders has behaved in the last two weeks.

The underdog from England has raised concerns this week about everything from the three-judge panel lacking a representative from the United Kingdom to the size of the ring he will fight Alvarez in.

A potential crowd of 70,000 people is expected at AT&T Stadium. The card also includes a title fight between Elwin Soto and Katsunari Takayama for Soto’s junior flyweight belt.
