Burger King making the most of Hazard’s injury
While the fans asked why Hazard did not turn up for training, Burger king quoted, “2X1 at Burger King”. Unexpectedly, the tweet saw more than 25k retweets and over 100000 likes within no time. Also, few of the Real Madrid fans didn’t go well with this ‘Petty’ act by the fast-food giant.
His injury has come up as a colossal blow to Madrid that is trying hard to close the gap with Table-toppers Atletico. Conversely, it is not the first time that Hazard has gone down to an injury, and he has admitted to gaining some extra pounds during his time at Bernabeu.
Hazard started in four of the last five matches for Madrid. So, him getting injured once again is a complete embarrassment for every Eden hazard Real Madrid fan around.
Hazard’s disappointing run at Bernabeu
Hazard arrived at Madrid in 2019 for a world record fee of over €100 million. Many looked forward to him as the perfect replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. Still, his limited time on the pitch (due to random injuries) has been disappointing to all the Madrid fans.
It’s not just the fans, but Hazard himself admits the 2019-20 campaign as the ‘ worst season of his football career”.If we look down at the numbers, he made just 14 appearances while scoring 1 goal during the same period.
It all started with his ankle injury in 2019 while playing against PSG in a crucial UCL tie. As a result, hazard Madrid got sidelined for more than three months. Even when he returned, Hazard picked another injury and forced to undergo ankle surgery. This was something that again pushed him out of action for another three months.
After being a crucial part of Madrid’s La Liga win in 2020, he missed most of the 2020-21 season due to another ankle injury. Adding more salt to his wounds, the player tested positive for Coronavirus in November 2020.
The Injury saga didn’t stop here, and he picked up a hamstring injury again in November 2020. Till now, Hazard has missed almost half the matches played by Madrid. So, there are no brownie points for guessing why Burger king trolls this Belgian midfielder regarding his fitness.
