Being FIFA’s Best Player, Messi Motivated to Raise Barcelona’s Achievement

Lionel Messi said he was happy to be selected as FIFA’s best player. Labeling as the best player in the world has also motivated him to raise Barcelona’s achievements this season.

Messi lined up as the best in the awarding night which took place in Milan, Italy, Tuesday (9/24/2019) at dawn. The Argentine star defeated Cristiano Ronaldo and Virgil van Dijk.

The Blaugrana player deserves to be happy with the award he received. Understandably, since being nominated in 2016, only this year Messi went on stage and received a trophy.
“It’s been a long time since I received an individual award. This is an award for the first time and it’s very good to get it,” Messi said.

No wonder this excitement wanted to be transmitted to his colleagues in Barcelona. Messi, whose condition has not fully recovered after suffering a calf injury, has so far only appeared once in La Liga. Unfortunately, the appearance of Messi could not help Barcelona win points when defeated Granada last weekend.

Obviously, this is a bad achievement Barcelona just won seven points since 1994-95. “We started badly and struggled to create games and opportunities. This is just the beginning, but we have to respond now,” Messi said.

“There is no more time and we have to improve a lot, we are aware of this. This is a team problem. I have no doubt we will improve soon,” said Messi.
