As an XFL Owner The Rock Assures His “Loyalty Will Always Lie With the Players and Fans”

The Rock talks about his future plans with XFL

The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson, the new co-owner of the XFL, is feeling jubilant and joyous about getting through with the landmark deal.

As an owner of the XFL, our discussions with the CFL have been very exciting. There’s a real pulse here because you can feel the unique opportunity we can potentially create together. Wherever it all leads, I can tell you this one is personal to me and is driven by all my passion – because me being cut by the CFL was the greatest thing that happened.”, He said in a Twitter post

It set me on a path that years later would lead me right back to the league. To help create even greater and bigger opportunities for all our players and all our fans. As an owner who’s had his hands in the dirt – my loyalty will always lie with the players and fans.”, The Rock further added.

The Rock came up with this post on Wednesday night while addressing the talks regarding the postponing of the 2022 XFL season. He further discussed how the CFL changed his life while he pushed through for a pro career after playing in college at Miami.

XFL still in talks with CFL over future growth plans

We must mention here that Dwayne Johnson didn’t make it into the XFL’s joint statements on Wednesday. The XFL officials claimed that they are currently in talks with the Canadian Football League regarding future development plans.

The officials, however, didn’t respond on the level of contact they’ve had with XFL ownership( including Johnson and his ex-wife Dany Garcia ).

The current XFL owners Dany Garcia and former WWE superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson bought in august. The Rock and his investor group finalized the deal with World Wrestling Entertainment chairman and CEO Vince McMahon for $15 million. Moreover, Johnson himself held the membership of the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders in 1995.

Only half of the 10-games went through in XFL’s 2020 season because of the pandemic. On the other side, Johnson signaled towards a potential return of the league in the spring of 2022.
