FORMER Formula 1 racer from Spain, Fernando Alonso, reportedly Autoevolution, is busy testing the latest offroad racing car made by Toyota, the Toyota Hilux Gazoo Racing.
The plan is that next year, January 5-17, 2020, Alonso will take part in the world’s most prestigious off-road competition, the Dakar Rally. Next year it turns out that the Dakar Rally that was held in previous years in the Latin American region moved to the Middle East region.
For the competition, Alonso has tested the car he will use in Namibia and Poland. In the test, he was accompanied by co-driver Marc Coma. On September 13-14, both of them participated in the Lichtenburg 400 competition in South Africa.
“I am very excited to test this car in the real competition because the situation will be far different than closed testing,” said Alonso.
