Alex Marquez wanted to be the mechanic of his brother, Marc Marquez, rather than racing. How is the story?
Alex and Marc are brothers in the world championship today. Alex is racing in Moto2, while Marc is in MotoGP and has the status of five world titles.
Alex, who was racing for the Marc VDS team in Moto2, told me he thought of wanting to be Marc’s mechanic. He wants to be a mechanic because it is considered not too risky.
“I remember when I went with my father and brother and watched [Marc] drive a motocross. One day I said this “Dad, I want to try it too so that it knows whether it suits me or not, “Alex said in the MotoGP podcast.
“And he told me some the previous time if I wanted to ride, there was already a sister’s motorcycle so that I could ride it. I said okay, why not, I’ll give it a try. ”
“Before I always thought ‘I would be a mechanic brother because there were no risks. But since then, I thought maybe it wasn’t mechanical but also riding it, not as a profession, but just for fun, “recalls the 23-year-old rider.
This season, Alex and Marc have the chance to become world champions together. Alex currently leads the Moto2 competition, and Marc leads the 2019 MotoGP standings.
