The entire team has completed an official motorbike test that will be used at the 2020 MotoGP at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Valencia. The two-day test, the Repsol Honda team completed a total of more than 250 laps. After testing various parts and settings, Marc Marquez managed to occupy the seventh position as the fastest racer by recording a time of 1 minute 30,556 seconds. While his younger brother, Alex Marquez, who tested 79 laps to be at number 22 after posting a time of 1 minute 32,235 seconds.
“This is a good test and we have begun to understand the 2020 motorbike or at least the first version. We tried several things with the engine and chassis like there are always some positives and negatives. The final pre-winter tests will take place at Jerez on November 25 and 26. At Jerez, drivers and engineers will be allowed to gather the latest information to help further develop the 2020 engine during the winter.
“Now in five days we will return to work at Jerez and I think this will help us better understand the motorbike. I am looking forward to it. The aim is to confirm our findings from here and make further plans,” Marquez added.
In a separate section, Alex claimed to be happy with this test. According to him, he began to understand the characteristics of the motor mounts after paving at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit.
“Physically I’m a little tired because I’m still a bit stiff on the bike, but this will improve with more turns. We do a lot of things on used tires to increase our speed and learn more behavior. Of course, we still need to improve more and “I did a few things, but I am satisfied with what we have done in this test. Now we go to Jerez, I look forward to being on the motorcycle again after really enjoying the manufacturer’s motorcycle,” concluded Alex.
