A sea of people will fill the Misano Circuit to watch Valentino Rossi this weekend. Local hero status makes the Monster Energy Yamaha team excited to finish the race perfectly in the 13th series this season.
With the distance of Rossi’s home in Tavullia and Misano which is not too far away, this race will certainly feel special for Rossi. He also hopes to break the famine victory that he has never felt since in Assen 2017.
Before entertaining fans at Misano, Rossi first realized his dream by riding a MotoGP motorcycle in his hometown in Tavullia. That was done on Tuesday (9/10).
- Andrea Dovizioso ended Marc Marquez’s dominance in the MotoGP race after completing a fierce battle
- In Misano, Marc Marquez doesn’t want to be cheated
Rossi, known as a hero in his hometown, deliberately took the M1 Yamaha to get around Tavullia. Fans hope the racer nicknamed The Doctor can look as competitive as ever before.
Previously, Rossi had stood proudly on the San Marino MotoGP podium six times. With details, scored three major class wins in 2008, 2009 and 2014, second place in 2012 and 2016, and third in 2010.
Looking at these statistics it is not strange if the Misano Circuit will be a magnet to bring fans from around the world, especially Tavullia residents. Yamaha team director Massimo Meregalli said Misano has always been a very special place for the team and also for many fans.
“Very close to Valentino’s home in Tavullia so as a team we see this round as our second home hero too. Supporters here live and breathe motorbikes and motorsports, their passion for it is almost real. Both of our drivers have tremendous support here, so we want to reply to the fans by doing their best to give a good show this weekend, “explained Meregalli quoted from the official Yamaha website on Thursday (12/09/2019).
“We have had a successful test here at Misano two weeks ago, so we approach this general practitioner with a positive mindset and we can’t wait to get started,” Meregalli added.
