Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
After undergoing a very disappointing 2018/19 season, Manchester United tried to clean up this summer. They finally brought in several new players.
They poured 145 million pounds to buy three players. They are Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire.
Wan-Bissaka and Maguire were recruited to fix the porous Red Devils defense. Meanwhile, James is expected to improve MU’s attack line.
Solskjaer also got rid of players who were not included in his plan. Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Chris Smalling must leave Old Trafford this summer.
Even though it looks like a positive transfer market for Manchester United, there are some glaring mistakes made by Solskjaer and colleagues this summer.
No Recruiting Substitute Romelu Lukaku

Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku
Romelu Lukaku was sold to Inter Milan after being disliked by Solskjaer. However, Manchester United did not bring in a replacement for the Belgian, who was the club’s second-highest scorer last season with 15 goals.
The Belgian striker does not fit into the style of the Red Devils manager. Because Solskjaer wants a fast player to fill the front lines.
But, Manchester United made a big mistake by not recruiting substitute Lukaku. Because the two main attackers of the Red Devils Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are now being inconsistent.
Rashford can break through the opponent’s defense but the settlement is not right, while Martial, sometimes, disappears in the match.

Failed to Bring in Midfielders

Manchester United lost two central midfielders in 2018. Marouane Fellaini went to China while Ander Herrera anchored to Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
Red Devils need to bring in a new central midfielder to play with Paul Pogba because the options currently owned by Solskjaer are not good enough. Fred, who was signed by United last summer, had a bad first season, while Nemanja Matic was past his prime.
Club academy graduates Scott McTominay and Andreas Pereira have not shown that they are good enough to start every game. The depth in the Red Devils midfield is quite inviting attention.
Maintaining a player who is not good enough

Phil Jones
Manchester United eliminated four players from the first team in the summer. Players like Lukaku, Sanchez, Smalling and Matteo Darmian have left the club, but there are still some players who are not good enough for Manchester United to be at the club.
Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo have not shown that they are players for the Manchester United level despite having played for the club for five or more seasons. While Ashley Young has passed its heyday and received a lot of criticism from fans over the last two seasons or more.
All three players should leave United. Meanwhile, Nemanja Matic must also be included in the sale list.
